Fencing Woodcroft

Colorbond Fencing, Gates & Fence Repairs for Your Home

Fencing Services for Family Homes

Woodcroft is a well-established family suburb with bigger blocks and a mix of flat and sloping streets. We’ve been building fences across Adelaide’s south for 9 years, and we know how much a solid boundary fence matters when you’ve got kids, pets and a big backyard.

A lot of homes here were built in the late 80s and 90s, so the original fencing is now leaning, faded or starting to rust. We replace old boundary fences, repair storm damage, build new gates and help landlords and small business owners keep their properties looking tidy.

Colorbond, Slats or Timber? Picking Your Fence

Each option has its pros and cons. Here’s a simple rundown.

Colorbond

Ideal for privacy and easy care. It lasts for decades and stops kids and pets wandering. The downsides are limited styles, possible dents and panels that get hot in summer.

Aluminium Slat

Ideal for a modern finish. It won’t rust and looks sharp. It’s pricier than Colorbond, and the gaps mean a little less privacy.

Timber

Ideal for a natural feel. Timber is simple to repair, but it needs staining and won’t last as long. Plenty of older timber fences in the area are being swapped for Colorbond or slats.

Chainwire or security fencing is the cheapest choice for large rural blocks, but it gives you no privacy.

How Much Does Fencing Cost in Woodcroft?

A standard Colorbond boundary fence is usually $200 to $300 per linear metre. Under the Fences Act 1975 (SA), you and your neighbour can often split the cost of a shared boundary fence.

Fence Size

Longer and taller fences need more panels, posts and concrete.

Slopes and Site Access

Sloping yards and tight access take more time, and some blocks need retaining walls before the fence goes up.

Old Fence Removal

Removing the old fence is part of most jobs. Fibro fences from the 80s can contain asbestos, which SafeWork SA requires a licensed removalist to take away. We’ll let you know at the measure-up.

Woodcroft Fencing FAQs

Will I need council approval for my new fence?

Usually not. The City of Onkaparinga says Colorbond fences up to 2.1 metres high don’t need approval in general residential areas. Fences within 6 metres of a corner where two roads meet must stay under 1 metre, and anything over the limits needs a development application.

Colorbond is the most popular, as it’s private, secure for kids and pets, and low maintenance. Aluminium slats suit the front of the house. We’ll recommend the right mix after seeing your block.

Most boundary fences take one or two days on site. You’ll get a clear timeframe after the measure-up.

Usually $200 to $300 per metre, depending on height, colour and access. Your neighbour may share the cost.

Yes, we cover Morphett Vale, Happy Valley, Reynella, Flagstaff Hill and the rest of the southern suburbs.

Yes, we provide photos, notes and an itemised quote to support your claim.

Yes. Full-height Colorbond with a plinth along the bottom stops most dogs digging under or seeing through. Tell us about your dog and we’ll suggest the right height.

Colorbond is a solid steel panel fence, best for privacy and low upkeep. Aluminium slats have small gaps that let light and air through, giving a more modern look but slightly less privacy.

Autumn and spring are ideal, as the ground is easier to dig and concrete cures well. We install all year, but booking before summer helps you avoid the busy period.

The main options are frameless glass, semi-frameless glass, aluminium tubular and aluminium slat. All pool fences in South Australia must meet AS 1926.1, so check the SA Government pool and spa safety rules first.
